Michelle J. serves on our Redemption Kids Serve Team. Thanks, Michelle, for sharing your story!

How did you hear about Redemption Church?

I heard about Redemption through Melanie Lawrence. When we tried Redemption for the first time, everyone was so friendly and our kids loved their classes. My daughter was very excited to tell us about what she had learned.  It’s one of the reasons I wanted to be part of the kids team.

What do you enjoy the most about working with the Preschool Team?

I have the privilege of working with amazing women on the Pre-K/Kindergarten Redemption Kids Team. We meet once a month to plan our lessons and collaborate together on how to make each lesson powerful and effective in teaching these sweet kids about Jesus. I am always encouraged by their friendship.

How has serving encouraged your spiritual development? 

I have been challenged as I plan my lessons to ask myself: what is the truth we need to focus on and how does this point to Christ? Through serving, I have learned to view the Bible as one story and that all of it is pointing to Jesus.

How has it helped you disciple your own children? 

Serving on the Redemption Kids Team has allowed me to see how to more effectively teach God’s word to my children at home. Also, Brian, my husband, serves with me so that our children get to see mommy and daddy serving together. We are happy to be modeling this to our kids so that they will one day desire to serve others as well.

What do you like to do for fun?  

I love meeting with friends and going on walks.

What’s a fun fact most people do not yet know about you?

I have ridden a camel to the top of Mt. Sinai and snorkeled in the Red Sea.
