Christmas at Redemption

“Long lay the world

In sin and error pining,

’Til He appear’d

And the soul felt its worth.”

– O Holy Night

This year has brought about a lot of reflection in our lives, and I can think of no moment better to ponder the arrival of Christ Jesus. Jesus has a history of breaking into our world at just the right moment. Galatians 4:4 says, “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman.” The prophecies of many millennia were fulfilled in his birth. Fragile the crying child lay in the manger, yet he was the conquering Savior sent to bring redemption to us all.

Jesus was born into a battle-torn and bitter world. He was born into a dysfunctional family tree-lined with murderers, whores, foreigners, and liars. He was born into a nation whose government, grasping for power, betrayed his generation in the worst way imaginable. He was born into the unsteady arms of unprepared parents, who were struggling in an uncertain marriage. Into all of this darkness, the sovereign God knew that this very minute in human history was the perfect moment for the light of Christ to shine. At the Lord’s bidding, Love came down.

Join us this Christmas season as we mine the depth of God’s long-awaited plan to save the world in the first two chapters of The Gospel According to Matthew.

This series will culminate with our candlelight Christmas Eve services.  We are providing two services, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with an overflow area at each service to ensure that we can gather in-person safely. Doors will open 3o minutes before each service. Come early and take a picture at our Christmas Photo Booth!  Our hope is that as many as possible can gather and celebrate with us in-person.

We will also be live streaming both services for those who are unable to attend in person.

In-person or online, don’t miss this chance to celebrate the love of God in Christ this Christmas season.

We are asking everyone who is planning on attending to RSVP so that we can plan accordingly for our guests and keep safety protocols in place.

Who will you invite to join us this year? We are encouraging everyone to text someone the following image and invitation:

Join me this Christmas Eve in-person or online to reflect and celebrate the love of God.
