Base camps are campsites that are used by mountain climbers as a preparation area before they begin the ascent. Needed supplies are shipped to the base camp by sherpas or porters who make sure that items arrive in advance of the climb. Climbers assemble their packs and double-check their packing list. They typically rest at base camp for several days to become acclimated to the new altitude. This helps to reduce the risks and potential hardships ahead. The camp also assists in proper hydration and nourishment. This stop is crucial preparation for their journey.
Our Base Camp class works in a similar way. Base Camp is a place where you can pause to catch your breath and become acclimated to our church. Our goal is to provide a healthy start for everyone who comes to Redemption Church. The class will equip you for the journey and help you avoid potential missteps along the way. You may have heard us say that we are a gospel-centered church. This class will provide you with some tools to grow your understanding of all this means. Whether you are newly exploring the Christian faith or a long-time follower of Jesus, we believe Base Camp will deepen your appreciation of the gospel and offer some faith-anchors to strengthen your footing for your spiritual journey.
Base camp is a six-week, discussion based course that meets for one hour each session. We will limit the class size to 12 people in order to maximize the learning experience.
