Redemption Stories – Ecuador

We met up with Ryan after his return from Ecuador and asked the following:

  • What was most impactful during your time in Ecuador
  • How did you see God at work?

Ryan

This was his story:

In the past, I used many excuses to discourage myself from mission work.  “I’m not a medical professional.  I’m not fluent in a foreign language.  I’m not a “good enough” Christian.”

What I discovered on the mission trip to Ecuador, was that I was wrong on every fearful account.  God doesn’t call the prepared, he prepares the called.  Not my words, but applicable here.  I had the joy of witnessing the Gospel in action.  As a group, we supported a local ministry that loves and cares for their fellow countrymen.  We provided dental and medical care to those in need. Dental_5929 More importantly, we provided compassion and love to those who possibly didn’t expect it.  God provided the opportunity to love his children and all that was required of us was willingness.  I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve others in Jesus’ name while in Ecuador.
