Why Church? A Look at the Heart of Redemption Church
Join us throughout August for this important series that will help you grow in understanding of Jesus, his church, and his mission. Whether you are a skeptic, recovering from “church hurt,” a new friend, or a long time follower, this is a great time to explore what Jesus intended for his church to be.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Jesus
It is probably an understatement to say that a lot people in our post-Christian Western world fail to see churches as beneficial contributors to society. Many see church as a waste of time, or even worse, they may see churches as a real problem—a bigoted and backwards club that is actually harmful to people.
For others, the frustration with church is more about the wounds and scars from bad church experiences. Some of us are in recovery from unhealthy churches, and we need to have our love and vision for Jesus’ church restored.
Our new series will lean into that tension as we seek to explore how the church can be a force for good in our lives and in our city. We desire to be authentic followers of Jesus who live for the glory of God and the good of our world. This will be an important series for us as we remind ourselves why Redemption Church exists and commit our lives to sharing the love of Jesus in our generation.
Redemption Church meets each Sunday at 10:30 AM
at Cheyenne Middle School in Edmond, Oklahoma.
